“Funny, you don’t look hurt.” She replies before taking a sip of her iced tea. It wasn’t horrible but maybe it’s just his vampire taste buds. There he goes again with that nickname but she won’t admit that she likes it. “No, I don’t. Whenever I consider you a friend you do something that makes me think you don’t deserve that title. How come you think we’re friends?”

“I don’t have to look hurt to be hurt.” He spoke as he shrugged lightly. Okay, so Damon wasn’t exactly the first choice of a good person. He had more than his fair share of bad things. “I consider us friends because we’ve been through a lot. You know that. If you took Stefan and Elena out of the picture, you’re basically the only friend I have.” Damon didn’t count Stefan as a friend than he did a brother. And Elena, well – if she didn’t look like Katherine, Damon wouldn’t have blinked twice. That’s the sad reality and truth of it all. Yet with Bonnie, he genuinely got to like her. Which is why he allowed himself to get hurt by such petty words.
Shaking his head, Damon waved it off as if it was nothing. “Forget I even said anything.”
